Technology, Innovation and the Future

Monica Magalhães, entrepreneur, speaker, educator and specialist in disruptive innovation and digital transformation, also spoke about the importance of socio-emotional skills for future tech leaders.

Being attentive to change and adopting a people-centered approach to innovation.

The importance of behavioral skills in the future of technology

In the context of the future of work and education, Monica projects a challenging scenario. Companies are creating their own corporate schools to fill the gap between the knowledge acquired in formal education and the demands of industry.

And although traditional undergraduate courses, such as Business Administration, Nursing and Law, still attract the most enrollments in Brazil, even these professionals will need to invest in digital fluency as a vital skill to stand out in the market.

Soft skills such as critical thinking, empathy and relationship skills are even more important for any professional who wants to find a place in the spotlight.

Labor market expectations in relation to emerging technologies

Monica also warned of the constant challenge of keeping up to date in a world where disruptive innovations can make skills and knowledge obsolete in a short space of time."It's essential to understand how we get ahead, win the market and get there first."

Another important topic was the perception of value in innovations, with the shift from an exclusively technological focus to an approach centered on people's lives and well-being.

The Masterclass also addressed the importance of being connected to the spirit of the times, understanding the perceptions of success of different generations and recognizing that the world is constantly evolving.

For technology entrepreneurs, Monica emphasized the need to build up a repertoire, look beyond borders and seek solutions with a high scale, low cost and low technological friction. In other words, for any project, it's important to always ask yourself: would a seven-year-old child be able to use this product or service?

Exploring the positive and ethical potential of technology

Monica also addressed artificial intelligence (AI) and its influence on the business and professional spheres. Trends such as hyper-personalization driven by AI and how technology is shaping industries in a different way.

"At least for the next few years, AI will not replace the workforce, but rather boost productivity and create new approaches."
